C r a b t r e e | Roswell

A couple weeks ago, I had the chance to meet with my sweet friend Rebecca and her family in Roswell for some family photos. Rebecca and I met in 7th grade at Camp Glisson. Throughout the years, life has been busy, but every time we’re together we seem to pick up right where we left off. She is encouraging, kind, & the truest of friends.

When she reached out about wanting to take some pictures this fall, I was so excited. We both were unsure how her two little ones would feel about family photos. Rather than forcing it, we just decided to let them run the show. We ran around (a lot) and sometimes posed with candy corn in between our teeth. What I loved about this was that we captured where her family is in this stage. At one point, we even let the four-year-old pose everyone. And she suggested that the four of them hug for their pose because that’s what described their family best. We captured the giggles, the silly & the chaos. It was awesome.

After this, I realized that kids are such a gift. They force us to be real even when we would rather be perfect; they remind us that being uniquely you is so much more meaningful.
