From the moment I talked to Gabrielle on the phone, I was so excited to meet her and Ben. She is incredibly kind, understanding, and creative. We bonded over her proposal outside a castle in Ireland, our mutual friends, and all that she has planned for her wedding. After our call, I felt as though we had been friends for years.

We decided that Montaluce Winery would be the perfect location for her and Ben’s engagement photos. We started with a picnic overlooking the vineyard, and I think it was the best idea. One of my goals is to make each engagement session feel as natural as possible.

I’ll pose the two of you and then tell you to just hang out and pretend i’m not even there. Throughout the session, I’ll take photos and give pointers to guide things along— like kiss her forehead, whisper something in her ear, or give her a bear hug from behind. After that, I leave the creativity up to you! You can kiss, laugh, and change up the pose however you want—this is where the photos really come alive. This gives us the chance to capture photos that are uniquely you.

By starting with the picnic, Gabi & i thought that this would give them a chance to get any nerves out and just enjoy this time together. Not only did it make them feel more comfortable for the rest of the session, but it gave us some really sweet photos—especially the ones where the champagne popped itself! Here are a few more of my favorites from their session!
